What is it about?

The storyline is set out in a future where mankind has left Earth and our Solar System. It is just after a civil war and the show follows the adventures of a firefly class ship, Serenity, and crew. The captain, Mal, struggles to find work, legal or otherwise, for his unlikely crew. With surprises on the horizon no matter where they go, the show is always a good thriller.

Where did it come from?

Firefly was concieved by Joss Whedon[3]. His first venture into the world of Science Fiction, it also has a distinct western feel to it. It was first shown on Fox but was prematurely cancelled in the middle of the first series. Whedon tried to convince other networks to pick up the series and keep it going but he had no success. Never one to give up though, he persevered and thus the Serenity movie was made.
