The Character

Played by Alan Tudyk, Wash piloted Serenity.

Wash signed on as the pilot of Serenity where he found a wife, Zoe. He had a beard at the time but shaved it off before the time of the first episode of the series.

Though very funny most of the time, Wash had a confrontation with Mal over jealousy of the time Mal spent with Zoe.
