The Character

Played by Gina Torres, Zoe is the captains second in command.

Zoe fought under Mal in the Alliance and Browncoats war. Inspired by his leadership and their experience in the war together, she signed on with him when he got Serenity.

Serenity has brought adventure and romance to Zoe. Despite some dodgey impressions at first, she eventually fell for Wash and married him and they enjoyed a very healthy union until the end of the movie.

Zoe is a very strong character but would probably not be as risk taking as Mal.
