Episode one: The Train Job

The Train Job is an excellent episode.

It begins in a bar on the comeroration day of the Alliance winning the war against the Browncoats. Mal takes offense at an Alliance supporters remark and a brawl ensues. Eventually Mal, Zoe and Jayne are cornered outside the bar but luckily Wash comes and saves the day.

Later on, the Captain is offered a job to steal some cargo from a freight train. He takes the job and the crew makes preparations for the task.

In a fast paced and action packed sequence, they manage to get the cargo onto Serenity but Mal and Zoe have to hide on the train and get off at the next station where it turns out the cargo was due. Mal learns that the cargo was medical supplies and when he gets to Serenity, he decides to give it back.

In doing so, he makes friends with the villagers but an enemy of his contractor.
